The color wheel was invented by Isaac Newton (1642-1726). He worked with the spectrum of visible light, for which the range of colors goes from red to violet (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet -- a six-color sequence that can be memorized as ROY G. BV).
The Definition of Hue
Hue- One of the three attributes of color, the other two being saturation and brightness. Hue is determined by the coloris dominant wavelength within the visible spectrum. A hue is also known as the “true” color, from the hue you can choose to shade darken) or tint (lighten) a color.
When it comes to color things aren’t just black and white…literally!
Let me start by wishing all the fathers and single mothers who have to play both roles a Happy Father's Day. For those of you who hadn't seen this before there is this great pattern memory matching game by Maharam. You can play the online version by clicking here and then clicking on accessories. This game is fun, inspirational and beautiful. You can also buy the at home version which retails for about $32.00.

Purple has become a front runner in colors when it comes to interiors and fashion. According to Crayola, purple heart, a color introduced in 1997, is America's third favorite color only preceded by 2 shades of blue. You can click here for some fun facts about purple and as always hit the links to get more info on purchasing any items you see listed. Purple may not be as regal as it once was but it still ranks up there when it comes to colors...I hope you find some inspiration in my picks of purple's reign!
I would have posted a video of the hit 1980's "Purple Rain", but apparently the artist formerly known as Price doesn't allow this...oh well LOL
I'm a lover of all things pretty, and I have a passion for design and decor and recently discovered my love of textiles. I'd love nothing more than to make it big in the business of design. I've created this blog to share some of my ideas and opinions, as well as display some of the work that I've done. I also wanted to create a place for readers to check out some cool art, including photos, patterns, paintings, music, dance and of course furniture. Design and art are all around you...open your eyes!
